Temperature Controlled Variable Viscosity Acid

1. System Characterizations

The temperature controlled variable viscosity acid system realizes different viscosity under different temperature conditions though the interaction between temperature-controlled thickener and crosslinker. When the acid penetrates the formation along with fractures, as temperature increases crosslinking occurs within the temperature window of 60-90 Deg. C. in 5-10 minutes and viscosity will be established. The viscosity increment will effectively lower the leakoff and control the inter-reaction between acid and formation rock.

3. Application for Treatment

Mix with acid before use and make sure no “fish eyes” occurs during mixing. It is not necessary to warm the acid. Indoor mixing can be done with normal mixer. When whirlpool occur in the acid pour the dry powder around the whirlpool evenly to avoid particle cohesion. The process usually requires 30 minutes.
